I have always loved language acquisition and problem solving. While in high school I started learning Hebrew, and continued the study of that language for 7 years. It was my first experience creating somewhat of a silo in my brain to learn a language so different than my own. While living in Norway, I was able to add to my English speaking silo while learning a language that built upon what I already knew. After learning Hebrew it was easier to know the best way for me to learn Norwegian. I had the tools laid out for me already. It felt natural to study linguistics at university, though my career didn’t follow an expected trajectory with a linguistics degree. I loved learning SQL in my first job out of school. It was like being part of the brain, building connection, storing, and retrieving data. It was an easy choice to continue my learning of different coding languages and structure.
I hope to continue exploring language and the world.
